Announcement of New Home in SF is made at "Smuin Ballet 2015 Gala: Unforgettable"

SAN FRANCISCO (March 16, 2015) – Smuin Ballet dancers were draped in jewels by event sponsor Bulgari, joined by longtime supporters, civic leaders, state dignitaries, ballet fans, and over 320 guests on Sunday, celebrating the company’s 21st season with its 2015 UNFORGETTABLE GALA – the biggest gala in Smuin’s history. The evening became truly unforgettable when Smuin Artistic Director Celia Fushille announced that Smuin Ballet trustees had just closed a real estate deal for a building in San Francisco to house the dance company’s studios and offices. A rousing cheer echoed through the brilliantly lit Galleria when this news was revealed, capping off a splendid evening of elegant revelry co-chaired by Patti and Jerry Hume, and Athena and John Konstin, that included cocktails, a performance by Smuin Ballet dancers, dinner by McCalls, dancing, and more. Although The Galleria sparkled with fabulous décor, it was outshone by Smuin dancers who were festooned with Bulgari jewels, combining the elegance of the ballet troupe with the timelessness of an iconic jeweler. Held Sunday, March 15 at The Galleria at the San Francisco Design Center, the Gala raised more than $378,000, setting a new record for funds raised in support of Smuin Ballet’s spectacular programming.
